12.12.2015 - Winter break until and including January 15, 2016

aktuell_121216_leaf.jpg An eventful association year comes to an end. The 2015 was characterized by the hemp seed prosecution and the search for financial resources. Now it's time for our annual winter break, which will be a bit longer this time: We want to tank up as much energy as possible for 2016!
It will be a year of anniversaries: 25 years of association (under different names), so Sven has been at it for 25 years and as secretary for 20 years, Fabian has been there for 20 years. In addition, the project “Legal Aid Brochure Shit happens” will be 20 years old (we are planning the tenth edition) and then in December 2016 should appear the “Magazine Legalize it!” No. 75 should appear.

Until and with 15 Dec. the office is normally occupied and from 18 Jan. we are also available again as usual (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri afternoons). In between, the office will be staffed on Tuesdays from 2pm to 6pm (Dec 22/29 & Jan 5/12).
You can find our program for 2016 in the agenda, the next important date is the association meeting on January 29.

We wish you all relaxing winter days and a successful start into the new year!

04.12.2015 - Magazine Legalize it! No. 72 is shipped & No. 71 is online

Tonight we will pack the Legalize it! No. 72 and from the middle of next week it should be with the readers.

Legalize it! Download We have also pdf'd another issue of our magazine Legalize it! It is Issue 71now available for Issue 71 download, both as a whole and as individual articles in the areas of politics, justice and the scene.
The current issue is still reserved for our members.

Fall 2015

Legal Aid Brochure Shit happens 9th editionOur legal aid brochure Shit happens turned two years old a few weeks ago. When it was published, we did not know, for example, how the fines was handled in practice. In the course of time, many answers could be found to questions that were still open at that time and, unfortunately, there was also a new wave of repression (semen prosecution).
In order to paint as complete a picture as possible of the legal situation, we have gradually recorded the new findings in three supplements: The open questions (E1, Aug. 14), the ( Repression OverviewE2, Feb. 15) and the ( Repression Overview police questioningE3, Aug. 15). Repression Overview police questioning
Thus, the most important information about the legal situation of THC in Switzerland is available offline in addition to being published on the wiki.
Next year, we then want to publish the 10th edition (20th anniversary).

16.10.2015 => Autumn break until 30 October

aktuell_121008_schnecke.jpg Half of our fall break is already over. During this time there will be no Friday meetings and we are most likely to be reached by mail. The office will be occupied irregularly: next week e.g. on Mon, 19 and Tue, 20 October; in the following week except Monday normal again (Tue & Thu/Fri in the afternoon).
In addition to the end of the quarter, we will also be doing some catching up during this time and preparing for November, when we hope to see the success of our biggest advertising campaign to date.

On October 30, we will start the last part of the year with a members meeting. You are cordially invited to support us - be it with a donation, a membership or your help. We wish you all a wonderful autumn season!

04.10.2015 - Third amendment to Shit happens: The police interrogation

The police interrogation We recently posted our third supplement to 9Shit happens online (PDF).PDFThis one provides an overview of policing interrogation. The information comes from the numerous consultations on semen tracing that our secretary has conducted this year, starting in the spring.
It quickly becomes clear that there is no such thing as a standard procedure in Switzerland - different procedures are followed depending on the canton or district. Even for interrogation itself, it is not possible to simply suggest a “best” procedure, since the approach of the police can vary greatly from case to case.
Those who deal with the topic quickly come to the conclusion that each case must be considered on its own merits and the approach must be tailored to the persons involved and the facts at hand.

24.09.2015 - Hemp-friendly into parliament!

Hemp-friendly into the parliament! The voting documents have now arrived. In order to be able to move something in the next few years in the matter of THC in parliament, we need people there who are not only positively disposed towards the topic, but also classify it as important. But how do we choose these hemp-friendly people?
You can find a guide in the Legalize it! No. 71 on page 7. There you will find a description of how to get a list of candidates via smartvote.ch, where you can at least hope that they will promote the topic in the councils. This is no guarantee for anything: Without pressure or initiative ;-) from the people, the repression will continue unchecked. Let's legalize!

17.09.2015 - Another update to the hemp seed prosecution

The hemp seed prosecution in new dimensions We have added to our page hemp seed prosecution with more judgments and added some special documents. In addition, our overview of the police interrogation (which our members received at the beginning of August) is online and two different personal experience reports show the experienced range.

The page now documents with many details the hemp seed prosecution spring/summer 2015, for which it is now very long. But before we finally revise it (and if necessary generate several pages from it), we would like to receive and include any further info. Here again the call: Whoever would like to publish documents about the hemp seed prosecution please contact us.

Summer 2015

26.08.2015 - Our club in the media (seed tracking)

Sven on TV In the last days Sven as secretary of our association had - besides the production of the Legalize it! No. 71 - two media appearances:

Last week he was featured in a TV report of tvo and this morning an article appeared on 20min.ch.

Of course we hope for a wave of support, because we are still dependent on membership fees and donations to be able to continue our projects and consultations.

You can also find news and much more on Facebook and Twitter - have a look!

12.07.2015 - Book: "The Cannabis Insanity - Why the prohibition harms us".

Book: The Cannabis Madness - Why the prohibition harms us Maybe for the vacations, the swimming pool or just in between?
This multi-layered and pleasantly fluently written book by Mischa Hauswirth is highly recommended to all those who deal with the topic of cannabis (repression) or want to have a say in current and future discussions.

19.06.2015 - Update: New dimension of the hemp seed prosecution

The hemp seed prosecution in new dimensions We have added to our page hemp seed prosecution with the first judgments: It's just sad what these people have to endure for a few hemp seeds!

To what an order of some hemp seeds in Holland can lead to, shows our report: The hemp seed prosecution in new dimensions.
At the customs enormous quantities of ordered hemp seeds are fished out. Such an order is really not a good idea (anymore)! Most of the people involved are summoned to the police, even for only three hemp seeds, but for many of them a house search is made directly. This has already happened with an order of 10 hemp seeds.

06.06.2015 - Magazine Legalize it! No. 70 is shipped & No. 69 online

Last Friday evening we packed the Legalize it! No. 70 and it should be with the readers by the middle of the week.

Legalize it! Download We have also pdf'd another issue of our magazine Legalize it! It is Issue 69now available for Issue 69 download, both as a whole and as individual articles in the areas of politics, justice and the scene.
The current issue is still reserved for our members.

Spring 2015

10.04.2015 - What the media are talking about...

Some media have reported about the hemp conviction figures 2014, unfortunately quite wrong. Here is a small overview of how the numbers have really developed. The details and graphics will follow in our Legalize it! 70. There you will also find more details about the limited nature of the statistics of the BfS. The numbers can not be compared absolutely, they are only good as an approximate order of magnitude.

Categories Crimes 2014 Crimes 2013 Defendants 2014 Defendants 2013
Consumption (contravention) 20'923 29'589 17'981 25'132
Cultivation/Manufacture (contravention) 458 361 451 349
Ownership/Security (contravention) 13'163 21'058 10'345 17'196
Total reprimands 34'544 51'008 28'777 42'677
fines (contravention) 14'861 2,198 1) 14'861 2,198 2)
Total repression (contraventions) 49'405 53'206 43'638 44'875

Ultimately, the scope of repression against hemp consumption and the preparatory actions required for this decreased somewhat in 2014. But essentially, 40,000 people are still prosecuted every year, who are accused of around 50,000 violations. Replacing a portion of the referrals with fines is certainly a relief for the people concerned. But even if there have been just under 15,000 fines à 100 francs, the number of those who have been fined is twice as high at around 30,000 (and the costs for those affected are still between 250 and 750 francs).

04.04.2015 - News of the last weeks

The many positive reports could lead to the assumption that “it” will soon become legal. Unfortunately, the last two decades have shown that everything firstly takes much longer and secondly than was assumed. There were glimmers of hope in the middle of the nineties and also after 2k, but many things were stalled early on or later failed at the ballot box.
If there will be any pilot projects at all, it will have almost nothing to do with legalization. Just like that, there will certainly not be a greater liberalization, for this, many more people would have to do much more: network, collect money, give out information, exert pressure - let's legalize it!

Cannabis pilot trial: Bern wants to allow smoking pot in clubs (nzz.ch, 13.3.15) - Basel-Stadt wants cannabis pilot project (bazonline.ch, 19.3.15) - With weed against the mafia (zeit.de, 21.3.15) - The number of crimes has dropped (nzz.ch, 23.3.15) - A rethink is underway on cannabis prohibition (srf.ch, 26.3.15) - With legal hemp against the m afia (20min.ch, 26.3.15) - The cannabis revolution from below (srf.ch, 29.3.15) - Cities push cannabis legalization (tageswoche.ch, 30.3.15) - Cannabis clubs to give new impetus to Swiss drug policy (tageswoche.ch, 31.3.15) - Petition "Free the Plant Switzerland" (avaaz.org, 31.3.15) - Cannabis concept: Geneva shows the way, Basel should follow (tageswoche.ch, 31.3.15) - Cannabis as a legal painkiller (srf.ch, 1.4.15)

26.03.2015 - Last members meeting before spring break

On March 27, the next members meeting will take place. We celebrate two years again enlarged Legalize it! and take a first look at the 2014 repression figures that came out a few days ago. From 31 March we take our spring break, on 9 April we resume.

03.02.2015 - The duty is fulfilled

aktuell_150210_zoom.jpg Our association meeting 2015 has confirmed Fabian and Sven for another year as board and approved the annual financial statement 2014. So we can now fully concentrate on the projects 2015: THC&road traffic will be a main topic, our film project should progress, the French translation of Shit happens is to be integrated and of course there will still be four Legalize it! issues (the next one at the beginning of March), as well as weekly legal consultations. Yes, there is a lot to do…

30.01.2015 - Association meeting 2015

Association meeting on January 30, 2015 Last Friday we really started the new year and prepared the association meeting on January 30. The figures for the annual accounts are already available, now we have to prepare the annual report. With this we would have most of the ingredients for the official part of the AGM together.
There will certainly be enough time for questions and discussions - an important part of the evening, especially in a special year like this one.

We look forward to welcoming many new and old familiar members!
