Information from Association Legalize it! (September 2024)

We are taking a short vacation and our office will be closed from September 30 to October 4. Until then and afterwards you can reach us by phone as usual: Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays in the afternoon (079 581 90 44).

A new political cycle has been underway for some time. Since the end of 2021, the "Cannabis Regulation" subcommittee of the National Council's Social Security and Health Committee (SGK-N) has been tasked with developing a new approach to hemp containing THC. Three years have now passed, which have essentially taken place under the cloak of commission secrecy.

It now appears that the sub-commission will probably conclude its work in October and the “parent” commission will then discuss the results of its sub-commission in spring 2025. If this works out and the commission approves the proposals, the consultation process could start in summer 2025. We would like to take part in this.

We will therefore look at the proposals in detail as soon as they are available. This will involve possible legislative texts/legislative amendments, explanatory reports and, in all likelihood, various possible variants. By “we” we mean our Board of Directors and some interested active members. If you would also like to take part in these discussions, simply send us an e-mail.

We will also discuss this at our event on November 1 (see below).

November 1 is only around 45 days away. That's when our information event will take place: Legalization, hemp culture, repression and pilot studies are on the agenda. We will provide an overview of the hemp situation in Switzerland.

Our advertising campaign in the cities of Aarau, Basel, Bern, Lucerne, St. Gallen and Zurich has started! If you see our flyers/posters in stores, bars or anywhere else, please send us a picture?

If you can put up/distribute/send out more flyers or put up posters, just get in touch. We will send you the required material free of charge.

Our members are currently receiving the latest issue 103 of our magazine Legalize it! The fall issue contains a mix of topics: The invitation to our info evening on November 1, the prescription of flowers for medical purposes, the hempprosecution 2009-23 (with a focus on age and weed/hash) as well as a report on the first year of the "Hanfstübli" as part of the pilot project in the city of Zurich. The complete magazine will be available as a PDF from December.
